Born in Malaga, Spain, Jesus Reina began his studies at age four with
his grandfather, learning Spanish folk music. He later went to the
Reina Sofia Music School in Madrid, where he received the prize naming
him "the most outstanding violinist" from Queen Sofia of Spain. Jesus'
major performances include the Bach Concerto for Two Violins with
Pinchas Zukerman, the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto with Eiji Oue and the
Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, and a performance with Valery Gergiev and
the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra at the "El Escorial" festival 2007.
Jesus is currently a student at the Manhattan School of Music and
previously studied at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
